The mission of Heartland Oral Surgery and Dental Implants is to serve the residents of Central Nebraska by providing the highest quality of care possible in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. We strive for excellence and will stop at nothing to meet patient expectations. As a key member of the dental society, we work tirelessly with our colleges to ensure that our community has access to care in a state-of-the-art facility that is safe, warm, and stress-free. We seek a family-friendly environment where patients feel respected, informed, and important. In turn, our greatest reward is to earn the trust and confidence of each person that walks through our doors.

Tooth Extractions
When a tooth is unable to be saved, whether due to decay or periodontal disease, tooth extraction may be necessary. Whether you require a simple removal or a more complex surgical extraction, your comfort is our top priority, and we’ll ensure your procedure goes smoothly and as painlessly as possible.

Orthognathic Surgery
Jaw misalignment is a source of insecurity for many, and it can have negative repercussions for your health if not rectified. Orthognathic surgery, or jaw surgery, involves correcting the position of the upper or lower jaw and can improve issues like misaligned bite, facial asymmetry, or sleep apnea.

Dental Implants
Dental implants use artificial tooth roots made of titanium as a secure and viable solution to missing teeth. After the implant is placed in your jawbone, the bone around the implant grows to create a strong foundation for your new teeth, improving both cosmetic appearance and function.

Facial Trauma
The team at Heartland specializes in treating traumatic maxillofacial injuries, including facial fractures and lacerations, nasal obstructions, and avulsed teeth. Through minimally invasive surgical techniques, we aim for the best possible cosmetic result in addition to correcting health concerns resulting from trauma.

FAQ
What is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon?
Maxillofacial surgeons specialize in treating conditions of the head, jaw, face, and neck. This ranges from routine wisdom teeth extractions to facial reconstruction after a serious traumatic injury.
Will I need to be put under anesthesia?
Depending on the procedure, you may require local or general anesthesia. If you are uncomfortable being put under during surgery or wish to be put under instead of remaining awake, talk to your surgeon to discuss other options.
How long do dental implants last?
The titanium post implanted into the jaw during dental implant surgery will likely last a lifetime. The crown, however, may need to be replaced after 15 to 25 years, but this largely depends on factors like location in the mouth and the patient’s dental hygiene.
